Early and fine French 8-day rcocco time, strike and repeat carriage clock by Japy, retailed by Biergans of Munich circa 1850. This large 6.75 inch (to the shoulder) clock features fine rococco mouldings on all surfaces, including the handle. It is bell striking and also retains it's original engraved (very unusual) platform and lever escapement. The gilding is original.
